Dawn Estep got a degree from Texas A&M?

Defendant Estep claimed to Plaintiff in early 2007 that she/her company, Murdoch Group Inc., was the IPO consultant for VMWare, a subsidiary of EMC.

Estep claimed she had solidified multi-million dollar investment deals with Symantec’s Peter Norton, and Google Inc., on behalf of Plaintiff’s company. Under the guise of this “larger” deal, Estep then “sold” her shares — granted to her as the VMW ipo consultant — of pre-ipo stock to the Plaintiff. Estep claimed these shares were available through a program called, “Friends & Family.”

Plaintiff, upon Estep’s specific request, issued (3) separate interstate wire-transfers in Aug., 2007, to Dawn Estep, for shares of vmw, 2 days prior to VMWare’s IPO.

Estep claimed she would procure the stock certificates after VMWare (VMW) went public, then issue the “certs” to the Plaintiff.  As of 2012, Dawn Estep has never come forward with, nor issued any  stock certificates to the Plaintiff.

Dawn Estep was sued for Stock Fraud in Los Angeles Superior Court in 2008. Plaintiff now has a $1.7 million dollar fraud judgment against Dawn Estep in this civil matter.

“When I first discovered that Ms. Estep was a habitual liar, as set forth in my Complaint, I confronted her. “Estep” made various threats to me and to my (now former) assistant of bodily harm. Many of these threats were sent as e-mails or left as voice messages on my voice mail. I have set forth many of the threats in my Complaint.

Ms. Estep currently has criminal charges pending against her in the State of Texas, specifically in Austin, Texas, concerning check fraud. She was arrested on or about September 15, 2008. Also, since late last year, I have discovered other individuals who also have been defrauded by Ms. Estep. To that end, I am aware of additional suits that will be filed against her, her company and her corporation shortly.

Dawn Estep involved in a DWI in Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas. Estep, driving a white Toyota Avalon owned by her father, Dwight, carried an open container of alcohol in her purse when the accident occurred. Estep ran a stop sign, colliding with a Chevy Suburban driven by an employee of Jefferson Bank.

Estep claimed she could not attend her CA deposition date due to injuries sustained in said accident. FACT: Plaintiff’s attorney spoke with Estep’s San Antonio Doctor who indicated her injuries were… very minor. Dawn Estep

Why was Estep driving her father’s car/living with her father in Marion, Texas? Seems there was was a Temporary Restraining Order (see below) filed by her husband with a demand she find alternate living arrangement (exit 906 Cambridge Oval)  and to keep Estep from driving a 2005 Mercedes M500 that Estep claims belonged to her.

The following is excerpted from Plaintiff’s Lawsuit:

On or about July 2007, Defendant Estep represented to Plaintiff that VMWare was intending to provide to her certain restricted shares of stock in consideration for the services she provided. Defendant Estep further represented that she was willing to sell a portion of those shares to Plaintiff for the sum of $*********.

In further discussions, Defendant Estep represented that if Plaintiff provided to her the sum of $********, she would obtain ***** shares from VMWare and that said shares would be placed in Plaintiff’s name under his social security number.

During initial requests, Defendant Estep represented that she had obtained the share certificates and that she was holding certificates in Plaintiff’s name in her safe deposit box. In late February 2008, Defendant Estep told Plaintiff that she intended to send him the share certificates by Federal Express.

But having not received any shares and after inquiring further, on or about March 5, 2008, Estep stated the following:  “I still have the shares locked away in a safety deposit box.  We all know I’m a lazy ass. Since I’ve gotten two kids, I’m so freakin lazy.”

On or about May 26, 2008, Estep stated: “It’s Dawn Estep, the stock is in your name, it’s been in your name since day one, it’s been in your social, and it’s just I’ve had it with my transfer agent.  Not my transfer agent, the transfer to me. It has been in the safety deposit box with my stuff.”

Did two of Tech’s top names — Google Inc., and tech titan Peter Norton — invest $18 million dollars in a small, L.A. based internet apparel firm?

According to Def. Dawn Estep, of Murdoch Group Inc, Google Inc. entered into an agreement, solicited by Estep on Plaintiff’s behalf, and  allegedly executed by a prominent San Francisco law firm, Pillsbury Winthrop, to invest $15 million dollars, while “Norton” purportedly faxed Estep, on Plaintiff’s behalf, an offer for $3 million in first round funding.

Dawn Estep, in voicemail and email, claims to have had several meetings with Google on behalf of Plaintiff. Estep then names several of her contacts at Google to include, Leslie Miley, and several others.

Ironically, AMAZINGLY, despite over  400  voicemail, 4,000-plus emails and hundreds of SMS text messages related to business deals from Estep, along with witness declarations (under oath), AND, multiple interstate wire transfers with Estep as the PAYEE — confirmed by Police subpoena’s — Estep, after being sued, then claims NO SUCH BUSINESS DEALS EXISTED, even in the face of her repeated insistence, prior to being sued,  (via voicemails/emails/sms)  that these deals DID, exist.

The kicker?  Estep’s voicemail stating, “no one has ever accused ME of falsifying a business deal.”  Wow! Wrap your head around that one!  LISTEN!

A final conference hearing is scheduled for April 26th. If Def. Estep does not appear, her testimony will be struck, a default judgment will be entered and a prove up hearing will be held.

Note: April 23rd, Def. Virginia “Dawn” Estep did NOT appear on motions to compel + $6k in sanctions. Sanctions and Motions were granted in full.

Def. Dawn Estep’s Attorney requests to be recused from the case – Estep did not pay her BILL and is apparently and repeatedly  non-responsive to lawyer requests for information.

Ironically, Miss Estep (Mr. Estep recently filed for divorce), had discussed with the Plaintiff on myriad occasions her disdain for lawyers,  and that  ”she knows more about the law than any attorney she has ever hired” — and according to her, people are always trying to sue her (imagine that), so she has the “best” legal representation. Estep concluded saying, “she prefers to hire less expensive firms, insists that she in not a sympathetic witness/plaintiff, and  further insists she maintains the venerable law firm Pillsbury Winthrop as her main legal team.

Can’t attend her Deposition?

Estep claims to have been in an auto accident and cannot attend her deposition due to injuries sustained in the alleged accident. However, Plaintiff’s attorney spoke with Estep’s doctor fortwith; according to said Dr., “she’s just fine.”
